At Upson ENT, our providers Dr. David Thomson and CJ Vaughan, certified Physician Assistant, provide comprehensive ear, nose, and throat diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment. We treat patients of all ages. Dr. Thomson practices the entire scope of Otolaryngology which covers the ears, sinuses, breathing passages, salivary, thyroid conditions, and sleep problems. Together, Dr. David Thomson and CJ Vaughan, PA-C, work to provide diagnosis and treatment for hearing and balance conditions.

Cutting-Edge Technology
Medical innovation is at the forefront of Upson ENT. We utilize a variety of high-tech devices to help diagnose various ear, nose, and throat conditions. This includes:
- Zeiss Video Microscopes to allow both the patient and provider a clear view of the ear canal and eardrum. A video screen is displayed on the wall so that you can watch as the ENT provider examines your ear.
- Olympus Endoscope towers are equipped with cameras to allow you and the provider a view of your nasal passages, sinuses, nasopharynx, and larynx. The images from the endoscope are connected to the screen display on the wall, allowing you access to what the provider sees.
- Hearing aids come in a variety of styles and price points. We offer major manufacturers Resound, Phonak, Oticon, and Starkey. Our team will help you select the right fit for you based on hearing test results and check with your insurance for any hearing aid benefits offered. We also service most all hearing aids so please contact us with any need.
- Audio booth hearing tests allow our audiologist to evaluate your hearing in a soundproof room. This allows for greater accuracy in the diagnosis and treatment plan. We also offer ABR testing for newborns that fail their newborn hearing screen.
- Videonystagmography (VNG) tests help the audiologist assess any imbalance/dizzy issues you may be experiencing. The test uses a pair of goggles that contain cameras to track your eye movements and rules out inner ear weakness as cause to dizzy symptoms.

Our commitment to providing excellent care rooted in compassion for all includes patients as young as newborns. We understand how unfamiliar clinics are to children and strive to create a warm, welcoming environment for our youngest patients and their parents. Upson ENT staff go above-and-beyond to put families at ease by answering any questions you or your child may have and making each office visit as comfortable as possible.
We treat the same ear, nose, and throat conditions in both adult and pediatric patients but tailor the appointment to the needs and age of the patient.
Audiology
Hearing and Balance Conditions
Upson ENT offers comprehensive diagnostic testing and treatment for diminished hearing, ringing in the ears, and balance disorders. Prescription hearing aids are available.
Hearing tests are conducted in our certified sound booth on patients of all ages. These hearing test results are available right away, and the audiologist will discuss the results and options for your next steps.
We offer treatment of all types of hearing losses with various makes and models of hearing aids. Our audiologist will fit you for the best hearing aid based on your audiogram findings and conduct regular hearing aid check appointments to ensure your hearing needs are met.
Imbalance issues and dizziness are conducted in our VNG room, which is specifically designed for assessing balance disorders in a controlled environment.
