NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to the provisions of Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended, that at 10:00 a.m. on February 5, 2025, at 801 W. Gordon Street, Thomaston, Georgia, a hearing officer of the Hospital Authority of Upson County (the “Authority”) will hold a public hearing regarding a plan of financing involving the proposed issuance by the Authority, in an amount not to exceed $32,000,000 in principal amount of its HOSPITAL AUTHORITY OF UPSON COUNTY REVENUE ANTICIPATION CERTIFICATE (UPSON REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER PROJECT), SERIES 2025 (the “Certificate”), the proceeds of which will be loaned to Upson County Hospital, Inc., a Georgia non-profit corporation (“UCH”), to be used for the purpose of (i) financing or reimbursing, in whole or in part, the construction, acquisition, equipping, renovation and expansion of health care and related support facilities at Upson Regional Medical Center (the “Project”), and (ii) paying the costs of issuance related thereto.
All of the proceeds of the Certificate will be used to reimburse, finance, and/or refinance costs of the Project at the Upson Regional Medical Center located at 801 W. Gordon Street, Thomaston, Georgia 30286.
The Certificate will not constitute a pledge of the faith or credit or the taxing power of the State of Georgia, Upson County, Georgia or the Authority, but shall be payable, both as to principal and interest, solely from the revenue derived from UCH, and the pledges therefor.
The issuance by the Authority of the Certificate pursuant to the proposed plan of financing shall be in furtherance of and in accordance with the purposes of the Georgia Hospital Authorities Law, codified in Official Code of Georgia Ann., Ch. 31-7-70 et seq.
The public hearing is required by Section 147(f) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended. At the public hearing, all persons interested in the financing of the costs of the above- described facilities and the issuance of the Certificate may appear and be heard or may submit their comments in writing to: Hospital Authority of Upson County, Attention: Chief Financial Officer, 801 W. Gordon St., Thomaston, Georgia, prior to the hearing or to the Authority at said hearing.
