Your Care
Hospitalists are highly-trained physicians who provide inpatient care and treatment to hospitalized pateints. Our hospitalists’ approach to providing quality care during your stay involves:
Direct Communication
This occurs between you and your provider. Your medical care and your understanding of your treatment plan are very important. Our goals are to allow you to be involved in your care plan, to communicate in a way you understand, and to keep you informed of updates to your treatment plan.
Interdisciplinary Team Meetings
Multiple members of your care team, including nurses, case managers, physicians, pharmacists, dietitians, infection preventionists, etc., work together to help you meet your individualized goals. Your hospitalist will collaborate with your care team to:
- Order diagnostic testing.
- Evaluate your test results.
- Prescribe necessary medications.
- Coordinate treatment with sub-specialists as needed.
- Provide a discharge summary to your primary care physician, along with prescriptions and recommendations for follow-up treatment.
