- MRI stands for magnetic resonance imaging, a non-invasive medical imaging technique that uses radio waves and strong magnets to generate detailed images of the inside of the body.
- IV contrast: Your doctor has requested your study be performed using IV contrast; some patients are REQUIRED to have recent (within 30 days) bloodwork to evaluate kidney function. If you meet any of the following criteria, recent bloodwork is needed:

- You will be asked to remove all items that contain metal prior to your scan; this includes jewelry, hair pins, and anything clothing that contains metal (a gown will be provided). To expedite your visit, we recommended wearing warm, comfortable, metal-free clothing such as leggings, sweat pants, t-shirt, and sports bra if wearing a bra.
