Georgia HEART

Rural Hospital Tax Credit Program

Turn Your Georgia State Taxes into Support for Upson Regional Medical Center

Your Georgia state income taxes can make a direct and meaningful impact right here at Upson Regional Medical Center. Through the Georgia HEART Rural Hospital Tax Credit, Georgia residents can redirect their state tax dollars into support for rural hospitals, helping sustain essential local care and ensure critical services remain available for our community.

Contributions made through the Georgia HEART program play a vital role in expanding access to care, enhancing patient services, and supporting the long-term stability of healthcare close to home. By participating, you help strengthen URMC and support our ability to continue providing quality care for patients and families.

2026 HEART Tax Credit Limits

All Georgia taxpayers are eligible to participate in HEART, with 100% of the contribution qualifying as a state income tax credit, up to these limits (January 1–June 30):

  • Individual Filer: up to $5,000
  • Married Filing Separately: up to $5,000

  • Individual Owner of a Pass-Through Entity NOT paying tax at the entity level: up to $25,000
  • C Corporation, Trust, or Pass-Through Entity electing to pay tax at the entity level: up to 75% of annual Georgia tax liability

After June 30, as long as credits remain within the statewide annual cap of $100 million, individual taxpayers may contribute unlimited amounts to eligible rural hospitals and receive a corresponding 100% Georgia income tax credit.
