Open Enrollment News
Open Enrollment is just right around the corner! It begins on Monday, November 9, 2020 and lasts until Monday, November 30, 2020 at 11:45 p.m. If you are not making any changes, you do not have to do anything. Your benefits will roll over just as they are right now. However, we strongly encourage you to log into SmartBen and look at your selections to be sure you have the coverage you need. Be sure to double check whether or not you have short term disability coverage. Many people this year thought they had short term disability but had not checked their election. This is well worth the premium so that you aren’t without income when you need it most.
We are adding two new benefit partners this year. Joyages is an interactive mental health and life coaching app. The app provides classes and resources as well as access to free, telehealth therapy from a professional counselor. Bank of America (BOA) will now administer all Health Savings Accounts for employees who participate in the High Deductible Health Plan. Employees will be automatically enrolled and all deposits for the Health Savings Accounts will be made to the BOA account. Newly hired employees won’t have to go set up a Health Savings Account on their own, this will be established for them through the BOA account.
SmartBen log in has also been enhanced to make it easier for everyone to log in. To login, visit www.urmc.smartben.net and use your log in information:
• Username = URMC + Employee ID# with all leading zeroes (for example: 00123 or 01123)
• Password = 8-digit birthdate (MMDDYYYY)
Large gathering restrictions made a Benefits Fair impractical this year but all benefited employees will receive a bag with benefit information enclosed. For employees who have questions about any of the benefit offerings, the Client Advocate Center (CAC) is your go-to resource! The CAC is staffed with subject matter experts who can help you with any of your benefit questions. Also, the 2021 Employee Benefits Guide is on the Employee Portal via our website at www.urmc.org. If you haven’t registered for access, visit https://urmc.org/employees/register to create your account today!
PTO Cash Out Deadline
If you’re wishing to cash out PTO, the deadline for getting your forms to Payroll is Wednesday, November 18. Don’t delay in getting yours completed by the deadline. Due to tight payroll deadlines, we will not be able to accept any late forms. PTO Cash Out forms are in HR and on the Employee Portal Document Center.
Electronic W2 Acceptance
Tax season is just right around the corner and you will have the option to receive an electronic W2 this year via the Meditech Staff Portal. In order to be able to access your electronic W2, you must consent to have it delivered to you electronically. Instructions to do this are located on the Employee Portal (via the website) under the Document Center. Click on the Meditech Staff Portal Instructions for more details.
