Upson Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome the newest addition to our leadership team, Lane Harrington, ARNP, MN, as Chief Nursing Officer. Lane will be responsible for leadership of all nursing functions across the organization and begins her new role on July 15.

Most recently, Lane served as Chief Nursing Officer at North Shore Medical Center in Miami, Florida. Lane has also held senior leadership positions with CHRISTUS Health in Alexandria Louisiana, Scotland Memorial Hospital in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and Lakewood Ranch Medical Center in Bradenton, Florida.

Lane’s leadership is diverse, ranging from the successful start up of a new 120-bed acute care hospital in Florida to creation of a safety net healthcare system in Central Louisiana. Lane’s leadership successes are uniformly focused on the provision of clinically excellent patient care, improvement of the patient experience, and support of employee engagement and satisfaction.

Lane earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina and her Master of Nursing (ARNP) degree from the University of Florida. She is currently working towards a doctorate degree from Northwestern State University.

Lane is a native of Georgia and grew up in Fayetteville. She and her husband are looking forward to returning to Georgia to be closer to family.

“I chose to join the URMC team to help promote the positive energy within the hospital. I learned through the interview process that there is such a passion for quality patient care and a dedication to the community that aligned with my professional and personal values. I am passionate about promoting nursing professionalism, ensuring quality patient care and making sure the patient experience is positive,” said Harrington.

“This was a difficult decision with multiple qualified CNO applicants and two very talented finalist candidates. I am confident that Lane’s experience and strengths is a great match for the needs of Upson Regional at this point in time. We are looking forward to supporting her transition into this role, and welcoming Lane as part of our Upson family,” said CEO Jeff Tarrant.

“Special thanks to Interim Chief Nursing Officer Carman Templeton for her strong leadership, insight, and support over many months. With Lane’s arrival, Carman will return to her previous role as the Education and Med/Surg Director and continue to serve as a key leadership resource,” Tarrant added.
