Upson Regional Medical Center is pleased to welcome Corey Fussell, M.D. to Upson Family Physicians Thomaston location beginning August 5th.
Dr. Fussell practices family medicine and is committed to providing comprehensive health care to patients of all ages. Appointments are currently available to establish care to include pediatric, women’s health, bariatric and adult primary care. Dr. Fussell earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee and his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia. He completed his family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Nashville.
Dr. Fussell is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and has additional training in advanced cardiovascular and pediatric life support. He also was the recipient of the Physician Leadership and Advocacy Certificate and the Professional Promise Award, which honors undergraduate and graduate students who demonstrate professional promise in teaching, research or other contributions. He is a Captain and family physician in the US Army Reserve and he is also working on a private pilot’s license.
Dr. Fussell and his wife, Meagan, are excited to join the Upson community. Meagan, who is also a family practice physician, will join him at Upson Family Physicians in October 2019.
“When my oldest friend Dr. John Jenkins invited me to Thomaston 3 years ago, I fell for the community right away. I loved the rolling hills, beautiful scenery, and warm people. I knew then that Thomaston would become my home. I am excited for this opportunity and feel blessed to help take care of the people in Upson County and surrounding areas,” said Fussell.
