THOMASTON, Ga., Aug. 14, 2026 — Upson Regional Medical Center (URMC) Administration congratulates Bailee Massey, an exceptional occupational therapist in the Physical Therapy Department, on receiving the Sunflower Award.
The Sunflower Award recognizes and celebrates the extraordinary work of patient care team members, including technicians, social workers, counselors and other clinical support staff, who go above and beyond in caring for patients and their families.
One of Bailee’s patients shared: "I feel like she discovered that I had a significant problem by listening and [providing] expertise... She further assisted me and taught me and encouraged me when I was ready to give up. She did plenty of things to assist me that were not in her job description, I'm sure. She was positive, uplifting, obviously very caring, a wonderful listener, very understanding demeanor, and above all did a great job helping me and arming me with the education and tools to continue with therapy at home. Hats off to Bailee!"
Recipients of the Sunflower Award should demonstrate the following principles:
- Integrity – Maintains trust and confidence
- Commitment – Serves patients and families by honoring URMC’s mission
